Mother Cabrini Health Foundation is committed to improving health outcomes for underserved New Yorkers by investing in a skilled, diverse, and resilient healthcare workforce. Our initiatives address shortages in high-demand professions while promoting worker wellness, job satisfaction, and clear pathways for career advancement. New York State faces critical workforce challenges that demand solutions to strengthen the workforce across all regions, ensuring equitable access to care for every New Yorker. To meet this need, we partner with healthcare systems, educational institutions, professional associations, and community-based organizations that play a vital role in workforce development.
Our commitment reflects the complexity and diversity of the healthcare workforce and supports a broad range of professionals, including, but not limited to, allied health professionals, community-based health workers, direct care workers, nurses and physicians, as well as future healthcare practitioners. We fund programs in these key healthcare workforce professions – especially for individuals from low-income, underrepresented backgrounds, and underserved communities – with interventions such as:
