July 15 is a special day at the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
It’s the birthday of our namesake, born in 1850.
It’s our mission to honor the legacy of Mother Cabrini by advancing the health and wellbeing of all across New York State.
As part of this mission in late 2022, we proudly awarded $1.5 million to the Cabrini Mission Foundation to broaden social services, financial assistance, and pastoral care to families, children, older adults, immigrants, and the homeless in New York State.
Established in 1998, Cabrini Mission Foundation exists to respond to society’s needs by supporting programs of healing, teaching, and caring sponsored by the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (MSC), the international religious order founded by St. Frances Xavier Cabrini in 1880.
Cabrini Mission Foundation responds to the unmet needs of the most vulnerable and those on the margins of society. Read more about its important work here.
The Cabrini Mission Foundation’s website also includes this biographical section — “Who Is St. Frances Xavier Cabrini?” — that provides an overview of the life and works of Mother Cabrini. It’s a great starting point for learning about the saint who serves as a powerful example of the Catholic values and principles that ground our own Foundation’s work.
As an immigrant herself, Mother Cabrini knew the importance of providing for the most vulnerable in our community.
This is at the heart of our purpose at the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation.
