We are pleased to share our latest Impact Report with you, which outlines our Foundation’s mission, the issues facing underserved New Yorkers, and depicts stories of how the Foundation and our grantees are responding to the state’s evolving needs.
When our namesake Mother Frances Cabrini arrived in New York as an Italian immigrant in 1889, she dedicated herself to serving fellow immigrants and underserved New Yorkers. In 2022, as New York welcomed tens of thousands of immigrants seeking a new home, our Foundation followed in our namesakeʼs footsteps by increasing our support for nonprofits helping immigrants. As the needs of New Yorkers continue to evolve, our Foundation is committed to ensuring our grants have the greatest impact possible.
During the 2022 grants cycle, we awarded 538 grants totaling $165 million. Our grant recipients focused on a wide range of issues to meet the most urgent needs of New Yorkers, including food insecurity, healthcare workforce development, mental health services, early intervention care, and more. Including our year-end funding for 2023 programs, we have awarded approximately 2,200 grants totaling nearly $635 million in our first four years of operation.
We invite you to read the report to gain a deeper understanding of the Foundation’s mission and see examples of our grantee’s initiatives this past year.
